RTFKT與Lexus合作推出了一雙以IS車系為靈感的球鞋,可惜現在暫無發售計畫。

日前Lexus在北美市場發表了IS 500 F Sport Performance,但搭載5.0升V8引擎可不是每個國家的排放法規都過得了,不過沒關係,現在有另一種擁有它的方式。Lexus與RTFKT合作推出了靈感源自IS F Sport的球鞋,整雙鞋主色為藍色,鞋底邊緣為輪胎,鞋頭則是照著Lexus招牌的紡錘型水箱護罩所設計。

整雙鞋的設計靈感源自IS 350,以Lexus希臘水藍(Grecian Water)為主色,輔以黑色的NuLuxe飾條,上頭銀色車縫線則是受車頭打勾狀的晝行燈所啟發;鞋後方對應的想必是車尾啦,鞋子後方的碳纖維尾翼相當搶眼,下方則有著IS 350字樣,彰顯運動氣息的F Sport徽識則是出現在鞋子外側。

鞋帶設計靈感源自鋁圈樣式

RTFKT是一家從電玩中崛起的運動鞋公司,他們推出的鞋款常帶有未來主義風格。RTFKT創意總監Chris Le表示,我們希望當人們看到這雙運動鞋時,會立即知道這是Lexus IS。執行長Steven Zaptio表示,我們將所有復雜的設計元素融合在一起,猛一看,相當令人震驚。 可惜的是這雙球鞋暫時沒上市販售的規劃。

在北美市場上,除了剛發表的IS 500 F Sport Performance,搭載5.0升V8自然進氣引擎搭配八速變速器,擁有可輸出472hp/535.55Nm最大動力表現外。還有IS 300 F與IS 350 F,它們分別搭載2.0升引擎與3.5L V6引擎,前者搭配8AT變速箱,最大馬力為241匹;後者馬力有兩種調校,分別為260匹與,高功率版本的311匹,兩車型均提供後驅和四驅車型可選。

Fisker has abandoned plans to develop an advanced solid-state battery to use in its future production vehicles.

The car manufacturer has been working on solid-state batteries for a number of years and in 2018, stated that its (since-abandoned) EMotion sedan would soon hit the market with a solid-state battery pack. Evidently, perfecting the technology has proven to be too difficult.

“It’s the kind of technology where, when you feel like you’re 90 percent there, you’re almost there, until you realize the last 10 percent is much more difficult than the first 90,” Henrik Fisker recently told The Verge. “So we have completely dropped solid-state batteries at this point in time because we just don’t see it materializing.”

“So, as we got toward the end of this — or let’s put it, as we got close to understanding fully this technology, we realized that it was much more difficult than we had predicted and expected in the beginning as we were very excited about some of the early things we were doing.”

According to Henrik Fisker, the company decided in late 2019 or early 2020 that solid-state batteries “are still very, very far out,” suggesting that they could be at least seven years away from reaching high-volume production.

Since scrapping the EMotion and its plan for solid-state batteries, Fisker has pivoted its focus towards the $37,500 Ocean SUV that will use a lithium-ion battery pack. The company is also in the early stages of developing a new affordable model that it believes could revolutionize the EV industry.

Kia released the first official photos of the new K8 in mid-February but failed to show any photos of its interior. Fortunately, we can now get our first look at the car’s cabin thanks to images of a prototype recently spied in Korea.

Much like the exterior, the design of the new K8 is vastly different to the K7 / Cadenza that it replaces. The most obvious change made is the fitment of a massive touchscreen display that encompasses both the gauge cluster and the infotainment screen which sits on top of a redesigned dashboard.

Elsewhere, we can see a three-spoke steering wheel and a center console clad in wood trim with a raised section for the rotary gear selector dial, just like the Genesis G80 and GV80.

The exterior of the K8 is dramatic, to say the least. It sports a unique tiger nose front grille with a diamond lattice design. There are also thin headlights and diamond-shaped LED daytime running lights. Other key design elements include sharp LED taillights and a dynamic character line running down the side that Kia says takes inspiration from “yachts sailing across calm waters.”

Powertrain details for the K8 are unknown, but it will likely be available with Hyundai/Kia’s Smartstream engines. The new K8 is expected to be unveiled in full in the coming months.
