While minivans continue losing ground to crossovers and SUVs, BMW is one of the automakers that still keep them in their lineup.

One such model is the new 2-Series Active Tourer compact minivan, which has been in development for some time now.

The model was spied recently with less camo at the back, showing what seem to be the production taillights, which will bring it in line with the brand’s latest vehicles. We can also see a discreet rear diffuser and new LED headlights with incorporated DRLs at the front. The grille appears to have slightly grown in size over the current generation, but it looks that it won’t follow BMW’s latest trend of huge kidney grilles but be more modestly sized.

Even though the new spy shots don’t show it, we’ve already caught a glimpse of the interior, which sports a big curved display that combines the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system. The HVAC controls will be accessed via the middle screen, and there will also be new buttons for the drive mode selector, auto-hold and parking sensors in front of the center armrest, as well as a thicker steering wheel.

The all-new 2-Series Active Tourer will sit on the UKL2 platform that also underpins the X1, X2 and 1-Series. It should grow slightly in size, considering that the 2-Series Gran Tourer will reportedly bite the dust, and should launch with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains. It will also be available with a six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmission, as well as the xDrive all-wheel drive system in upper grades, while lesser variants will be front-wheel drive.

A 2020 debut for the BMW minivan seems unlikely at this point, so we expect it to launch next year.

隨著北美陸續推出2021年式CX-5CX-9Mazda6,並同步新增Carbon Edition車型之後,日前日本Mazda也跟進發布CX-5、CX-8、Mazda6的產品更新,還比照美規Carbon Edition車型,為CX-5、CX-8、Mazda6及Mazda2推出Black Tone Edition特仕車,進一步強化運動氣息。

日規CX-5、CX-8、Mazda6及Mazda2推出Black Tone Edition特仕車 。

此次產品更新主要是針對CX-5、CX-8,重點包括2.2升Skyactiv-D柴油引擎的最大馬力從190匹/4,500轉提高到200匹/4,000轉,使超車與高速行駛時的再加速反應更為優異,而最大扭力雖然維持在45.9公斤米/2,000轉,但藉由重新調整油門踏板,Mazda原廠強調駕駛可以更精準地控制扭力,進而更容易掌握加減速反應。

此次產品更新主要是針對CX-5、CX-8,重點包括2.2升Skyactiv-D柴油引擎的最大馬力從190匹/4,500轉提高到200匹/4,000轉,使超車與高速行駛時的再加速反應更為優異。

不僅如此,Mazda原廠還重新調整Skyactiv-Drive 6速手自排變速箱,當油門快速踩下、確定加速需求時,變速箱將會以更快的換檔反應,瞬間發揮出駕駛所需的加速力道,但這項更新不包含搭載2.5升Skyactiv-D汽油渦輪引擎的2.5T車型。

此外,除了更新動力系統,CX-5、CX-8還同步升級最新的Mazda Connect資訊整合系統,導入Mazda Connected Services遠端聯網服務功能,並將原本為8吋的中控螢幕尺寸加大到8.8吋或10.25吋;CX-8另增加Qi無線充電裝置、感應式電動尾門等配備,Exclusive Mode頂規車型除了標準6人座也多了7人座可選。

CX-5、CX-8同步升級最新的Mazda Connect資訊整合系統,導入Mazda Connected Services遠端聯網服務功能,並將原本為8吋的中控螢幕尺寸加大到8.8吋或10.25吋 (圖為CX-5 Black Tone Edition特仕車)。

不過可能是已經步入產品週期尾聲,日規Mazda6並沒有比照CX-5及CX-8進行產品更新,只是簡單地追加「Polymetal Grey Metallic」極境灰車色,但仍偕同Mazda6 Wagon推出Black Tone Edition特仕車,將黑色系的運動化元素融入外觀與內裝細節之中。

While many aftermarket firms have been focused on producing twin-turbocharger tuning solutions for the C8 Corvette, ProCharger has just teased its bolt-on supercharger kit for the mid-engined supercar.

In a video previewing the supercharger, it can be heard screaming alongside the roar of the 6.2-liter V8, adding a whole new level of appeal to the car. It also promises to have a significant impact on performance.

ProCharger claims that its bolt-on supercharger package lifts grunt from the standard 495 hp to 700 hp, a very impressive figure that should give the C8 Corvette a fighting chance against Europe’s finest.

As noted by Muscle Cars and Trucks, ProCharger hasn’t revealed if the package includes a tune or any kind of remapping. Although many companies are aggressively modifying the C8 Corvette, none have been able to crack into the vehicle’s ECU as GM’s Global B electrical architecture is extremely secure.

Consequently, tuners have been unable to tweak important engine and transmission parameters to match the hardware modifications, forcing some to opt for piggy-back ECUs to make everything work together. Still, this isn’t a foolproof solution and C8 owners wanting something reliable should probably sit tight and wait for a proper ECU crack.

ProCharger has yet to announce how much its supercharger system will cost. It has also yet to release acceleration figures, although we do expect to see some pretty serious gains over the stock car.
