As impressive as the FK8-generation Honda Civic Type R is, this 2001 Acura Integra Type R is probably even more desirable.

Listed up for sale on Bring A Trailer, it is finished in Phoenix Yellow and has 78,000 miles (~125,000 km) on the clock. It is being auctioned off with factory literature, a clean Carfax report and a clean California title.

Unlike most Integra Type Rs you’ll find in the U.S., this one has been modified with the Japanese-spec front fascia that includes a unique hood, bumper and new headlights. It also has aftermarket side skirts and an aftermarket rear bumper that adds to the sporty and aggressive looks. Elsewhere, the factory 15-inch wheels have been powder-coated gray and fitted with new center caps and red anodized valve stems and are shod in 205/50 Yokohama Advan 032R tires.

The Intregra’s seller has upgraded the suspension with HKS coilovers at all four corners and a Vision lower rear strut bar. The brakes have also been upgraded with Spoon Sports front calipers and pads, stainless steel lines and PowerStop slotted rotors.

Various modifications have also been made to the high-revving, 1.8-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine. These include Spoon Sports camshafts, throttle body, air intake filter, earthing kit, oil pan, and ignition wires. It also has Toda Racing camshaft gears, a Mugen exhaust header and twin-loop muffler, a Catco high-flow catalytic converter and silicone coolant hoses.

GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance system with trailering capability will be made available to the facelifted 2022MY GMC Sierra 1500 Denali trucks sometime towards the end of next year. The updated Sierra was originally planned to be introduced for 2021, but  was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to GM, Super Cruise is the industry’s first true hands-free driver assistance system and is currently available on more than 200,000 miles (322,000 km) of compatible roads in both the U.S. as well as Canada.

Super Cruise works by employing a driver attention system and precision LiDAR map data, to go with real-time cameras, various sensors and GPS.

There’s also a small camera on top of the steering column working alongside infrared lights to aid the driver attention system in determining where the driver is looking when Super Cruise is active. If the system detects that the driver is looking away from the road for too long, the steering wheel light bar will make itself seen in order to gain their attention.

GMC already rolled out a series of upgrades for the 2021 Sierra, such as Jack-Knife Alert, Trailer Length Indicator and the enhanced Rear Trailer View.

Active safety trailering features are obviously very important to truck buyers, and GM has taken notice. “More than half of our Sierra customers use their trucks to primarily tow equipment for outdoor adventures,” said GMC Marketing boss Rich Latek back in September, adding that his company continually listens to customer feedback.

The aforementioned three features are available on both the GMC Sierra light-duty as well as heavy-duty models.

Hot on the heels of the 2022 MDX breaking cover, it has been revealed that Acura won’t be building a hybrid variant of the fourth-generation SUV.

The previous-generation MDX was sold in flagship form as the MDX Sport Hybrid. This model featured a 3.0-liter V6 engine that produced 257 hp and 218 lb-ft (295 Nm) of torque and was paired with three electric motors, for a combined output of 321 hp and 289 lb-ft (392 Nm).

However, during a recent interview with Autoblog, the car manufacturer confirmed that there are no immediate plans to launch a new hybrid variant as the high-performance version of the SUV will be the MDX Type S, which is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 producing 355 hp and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque.

Releasing a hybrid variant with very similar performance figures wouldn’t make sense. However, it is somewhat surprising that, given the industry’s shift towards electrification, Acura doesn’t plan on releasing a hybrid variant which would cater to environmentally-conscious shoppers.

The hybrid system of the previous-gen Acura MDX Sport Hybrid consisted of one electric motor fitted inside the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and two used to power the rear wheels. It returned a combined 27 mpg, a figure the new MDX Type S probably won’t be able to match.
